50 Most Influential Selection Process
Nominees are reviewed based on their personal and professional achievements in their careers, business, or appointed or elected positions. Significant consideration is also given to the nominee’s impact on the betterment of our community and the state. Community service, board participation, and overall contributions to our state—beyond their day-to-day responsibilities—are highly valued.
Each nominee is evaluated by a selection committee representing various sectors and organizations across the state. Reviews are based on the nominee’s submitted materials, including the application and bio.
Additional weight is given to candidates from outside the metro area.
Nominees will be considered under one of five categories:
- Politics / Government / Law
- Media / Entertainment / Sports / Arts
- Business
- Community / Non-Profits
- Health / Tech / Education / Other
Each category has ten available slots, which means some categories may be more competitive than others. All nominees must indicate that they are of Hispanic or Latino origin or ethnicity.
