First Lady Jill Biden Attends GHCC's 50 Most Influential Latinos and Hall of Fame Induction Event

Atlanta, GA September 16, 2023 – The Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GHCC) proudly celebrated the recognition of the 50 Most Influential Individuals in the Hispanic community in Georgia and inducted new members into its Hall of Fame during an inspiring event. The GHCC commemorated the start of Hispanic Heritage Month with this significant occasion, held at the iconic Truist Park in Atlanta.


The event, which took place on September 15, 2023, welcomed First Lady, Jill Biden, who delivered a heartfelt message to the attendees. Her attendance underscored the national significance of this event and reinforced the Biden-Harris Administration's support for economic development within minority communities.


“Our Administration is committed to supporting you – and listening to what you need. Because no one knows what this community needs better than this community,” said Dr. Biden in her remarks. “So, I want to thank you for empowering your neighborhoods and opening the doors of opportunity for generations to come.”


This event also welcomed U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff as well as Commissioner of Insurance and Fire Safety John King who brought a message in representation of Georgia's Governor Brian Kempt. The Speaker of the Georgia House of Representatives, Speaker Jon Burns, spoke at the GHCC's Hall of Fame induction ceremony which also had the Atlanta Mayor, Andre Dickens addressing the attendees. Other local elected public officials also attended the event, highlighting the importance of the recognitions presented on this occasion.


The honorees, representing diverse industries and fields, have exhibited exceptional commitment to advancing and empowering the Hispanic community in Georgia. Their unwavering dedication, leadership, and achievements have left an indelible mark on the state.


"This occasion not only recognizes the outstanding achievements of our community's leaders but also marks the kickoff of Hispanic Heritage Month in Georgia. It's a time when we celebrate our rich culture, history, and contributions to this great nation," stated Veronica Maldonado-Torres, President and CEO of the GHCC.


On this special day, the GHCC honored not only past Hall of Fame members, but also the new inductees who are ready to continue inspiring and leading with excellence.
